COMMERCIAL CROSSBRED BEEF CLASSES

Note: All cattle entered in the Commercial Beef Classes will be weighed on the showground, once only, on Saturday morning before 9am.

Divisions will be made as equally as possible by the stewards. This will be dependent on the number forward and weight on the day. If there are more than 6 entries in a class, at the discretion of the Chief Steward, the classes may be divided to include Middle Weight classes.

S108 CHAMPIONSHIP: For the Champion Beast and Reserve Champion Beast. To be judged from the 1st prize Winners from classes 101-106 or at the discretion of the judge. The Winner to be awarded the ‘The S. Hall Cup’. Champion Beast Awarded: £50 Reserve Champion Awarded: £25. S109 For the Best Animal of the opposite sex to the Champion. The Winner to be awarded ‘The A & V Squires Plant Co. Ltd Cup’

To be judged from the Champion of classes S108, S115 & S121.
The Winner to be awarded the ‘The Robert W. Kaye Challenge Cup’
The Winner to be eligible for Class S169 the 2020 Show Champion.

The Ben Mellors Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the exhibitor with the Most Points in the
Beef Section along with £50 Prize Money

151 For the BEST BEEF JUNIOR YOUNG HANDLER UNDER 14 YEARS OF AGE. Beef animal suitable to be led by a young handler – at the discretion of the judge. To be judged on their Showing and Handling ability and NOT THE QUALITY OF THE ANIMAL. These animals need not have been entered in any other Class. State name of handler on entry form.
152 For the BEST BEEF SENIOR YOUNG HANDLER BETWEEN 14 YEARS AND UNDER 21
YEARS OF AGE. As Class 151. State name of handler on entry form.
S153 BEST BEEF YOUNG HANDLER, Winner from classes 151 and 152 – To be awarded ‘The Alan Nosworthy Memorial Trophy’
154 For the BEST DAIRY JUNIOR YOUNG HANDLER UNDER 14 YEARS OF AGE. Dairy
animal suitable to be led by a young handler – at the discretion of the judge. To be judged on their Showing and Handling ability and NOT THE QUALITY OF THE ANIMAL. These animals need not have been entered in any other Class. State name of handler on entry form.
155 For the BEST DAIRY SENIOR YOUNG HANDLER BETWEEN 14 YEARS AND UNDER 21
YEARS OF AGE. As Class 154. State name of handler on entry form.
S156 For the BEST DAIRY YOUNG HANDLER, Winner from classes 154 and 155.  – To be awarded the ‘The G. E. Pogson Trophy’


THE SHOW TEAM AWARD

JUDGE: Mrs D. Padgett

This award will be judged covering such aspects as the presentation and welfare of cattle,Cleanliness of lines, marketing and promotion of the herd and presentation of the staff associated with each herd. All Dairy and Beef Cattle Exhibitors will be eligible to compete.
