HEAVY HORSE IN HAND CLASSES

RULES

  1. The Fourth Prize in each Class will not be paid if there are less than 6 entries in a Class.
  2. All Exhibitors must parade in the Grand Parade in the Main Ring at 2.45pm and every horse which does parade will receive £5.

Conditions for the award of the Shire Horse Society Silver Spoon.

  1. A Spoon and Rosette for the Best Mare or Filly exhibited in the Shire Classes, whose owner shall have been a member of the local Society for not less than 6 months previous to the last date of entry for the Show.
  2. If not already a member, the winner of the Special Prize must become a member of the Shire Horse Society.
  3. Entries cannot be accepted at Affiliated Shows in Classes for Shires or Heavy Horses from any person who has been either suspended or removed from membership of the Shire Horse Society or has been excluded from exhibiting for prizes at Shows, Sales or Exhibitions or from taking part in any Show organised by the Shire Horse Society.
  4. No animal to be eligible to take more than one Silver Spoon during any one year. The Royal and Shire Horse Society Shows being excepted.
  5. THE WINNING ANIMAL MUST BE REGISTERED OR ELIGIBLE FOR REGISTRATION IN THE STUD BOOK OR GRADE B REGISTER.
  6. The Judge invited to officiate must be on the Society’s Official Panel and has the right to withhold the Award of the Silver Spoon and Rosette if insufficient merit is shown.
  7. The winning animal must be free from disease.
  8. The Council reserve the right in offering their Spoons to award them only to persons approved by the Shire Horse Society and subject to confirmation in the uncontrolled discretion of the Council.
  9. Time Limit. Official returns of Awards of Spoons must be completed by one month from the date of the Show, otherwise such Awards will become void.
  10. Competitors are reminded to ensure primary vaccinations for their entries are properly carried out and that booster injections are within the prescribed time limits.

NO ENTRY FEES Entries prior to the show day will be catalogued

PRIZE MONEY (uncollected prize money will be forfeited)
Classes 30 to 34 1st £30, 2nd £22, 3rd £18, 4th £12.
Young Handler 1st £8, 2nd £5, 3rd £3 and £2 for the remaining Exhibitors,

CLASS DESCRIPTION
30 Brood Mare having produced a Foal in 2011.
31 Best Colt or Filly Foal, sired by a Registered Stallion.
32 Barren Mare or Gelding three years old and upwards.
33 Colt Gelding or Filly one year old.
34 Gelding or Filly two years old.
35 Young Handler. For the best Young Handler over 12 years and under 18 years of age on the day of the show. To be judged on their Showing and Handling Ability and not the Animal. These animals need not have been entered in any other class. No entire stock to be shown in this class. A Tankard to be awarded to the winner and to be presented at the Grande Parade.
S36 CHAMPIONSHIP: For the Supreme Champion, and Reserve Champion. To be judged from the 1st Prize Winners from Classes 30, 32, 33, and 34.

The winner will be presented ‘The David Morgan Trophy’.
