HORSE PLOUGHING

OPENING Opening at the Competitors’ discretion.
START Classes 11 and 12 Start to consist of 8 furrows.
Class 12 High Cut Ploughing – scratches may be handled but not removed in oat seed ploughing only.
FINISH Finish to consist of last 8 furrows.
DEPTH Minimum depth 13cm.
GENERAL:
a) Competitors can use one or two horses at the finish.
b) Leading of horses by one assistant is permitted.
c) Horses must not be left unattended on the headland.
d) Class 11 No boats presses or any other attachment allowed
Class 12 Boats presses and any other attachment may be used at competitor’s discretion.
ENTRY FEES No Entry Fee, Entries close Friday 2nd September
PRIZE MONEY 1st £30; 2nd £20; 3rd £15. Novice Prize; £25 Best Start; £5 Best Finish; £5 Each team completing their plots will receive £50

| 11 | Horse Ploughing – General Purpose. This class is open. The novice prize will be awarded to the competitor gaining most points who has not won a 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize for horse ploughing at any ploughing match. Competitors completing their plots will be eligible for entry into class 13. |
| 12 | Horse Ploughing – High Cut. This class is open. Novice prize as for class 11 Competitors completing their plots will be eligible for entry into Class 13. |
